NEWTOWN — Mrs. Maude Eunice Wood, 96, of Newtown, died at 1:55 p.m. Friday in Community Hospital, Williamsport. She had been a patient in Woodland Manor Nursing Home, Attica, for six years prior to entering the hospital. Born at New Liberty, Mrs. Wood lived most of her life at Newtown and was a former practical nurse. In 1902 she was married here to Mirbel Wood, who died in 1971. She was a member of Newtown First United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Burton (Avis) Lawson of Attica; two sons, Lester Wood of Newtown and Allen Wood of Jeffersonville; one sister, Mrs. Viola Mosbaugh of Arcadia; and a brother, Paul Furr of Fresno, Calif.   --typed by Walt W

WOOD, Mrs. Maude Eunice - Friends will be received at Dale Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Service at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Maus Chapel, the Rev. Marvin Jones officiating. She was a retired practical nurse and a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church. She was born near New Liberty on Oct. 11,1881, a daughter of James and Louisa Drollinger Furr. She married Mirvel Wood on May 30, 1902, at Newtown. He preceded her in death in 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Burton (Avis) Lawson of Attica; two sons, Lester of Newtown and Allen of Jeffersonville; a sister, Viola Mosbaugh of Arcadia; a brother, Paul Furr of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home at Attica with the Rev. Marvin Jones officiating. Burial will be in Newtown Cemetery.
